Privacy Policy

PermitWire (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a local building-permit app created by David Ramer. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, where its data comes from, and the choices you have. By using PermitWire you agree to this policy.

Information the app stores about you

• Your coverage area. The county and city you choose to follow is saved only on your device so the app can open to your feed. It is not transmitted to us.
• Your preferences. Filter choices and future alert settings are likewise stored only on your device.

The app does not ask for your name, email, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal information.

Where the permit data comes from

The permits shown in PermitWire are public records published by county and municipal building departments — for example, the permit registers of Lake County, Florida's Office of Building Services. These records are made public by the government under Florida's public records laws, and may include property addresses, owner names, applicant or contractor names and business contact details, valuations, and square footage. PermitWire republishes this information as it appears in the official record.

Network requests

When the app refreshes its permit feed, it downloads data files from our servers. Like any internet request, these carry standard technical information such as your IP address. We use this only to serve the data — we do not build profiles, track you across apps, or use advertising or analytics SDKs.

If your information appears in a permit record

Because permits are public records, a permit for your property may include your name as the owner or applicant. This information originates with the issuing government, not with us. If you believe a record shown in PermitWire is inaccurate, contact the issuing building department; if you have concerns about how it is presented in the app, email us at the address below and we will review it.

What we do NOT do

• We do not collect or sell personal information.
• We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
• We do not require an account or sign-in.
• We do not access your location, contacts, or photos.

Future features

If we add push notifications or paid subscriptions, those features may involve additional data (such as a device push token or App Store purchase records handled by Apple). We will update this policy before any such feature launches, and the “Effective date” above will change.

Children's privacy

PermitWire is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
