StepHive — Terms of Service

Effective date: July 6, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of StepHive (“the app”), created by David Ramer (“we,” “us”). By downloading or using StepHive, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

1. The app

StepHive is a walking and fitness companion that tracks your steps and calories (via Apple Health), records GPS walking routes on your iPhone and Apple Watch, offers on-device AI walk feedback, lets you follow your weight over time, plays your own music, and lets you connect with friends to share progress and encouragement.

2. Purchases

StepHive is free to download and use. GPS route mapping is available as an optional one-time in-app purchase. All payments, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store’s terms; we do not process or store payment information.

3. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use StepHive on Apple devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the App Store terms.

Health & safety disclaimer. StepHive is for general wellness, informational, and motivational purposes only and is not medical advice. Step, calorie, distance, heart-rate, and route data are estimates and may be inaccurate. Any AI-generated walk feedback and pace-by-age comparisons are general guidance only — not a medical assessment — and should not be relied on for health decisions. Consult a physician before beginning any exercise program. StepHive’s “Send Help” feature is a convenience to notify contacts you choose and is not a replacement for your phone’s Emergency SOS or emergency services. Always stay aware of your surroundings while walking. You use the app at your own risk.

4. Your account & content

You are responsible for activity under your account and for the content you provide — including your display name, profile photo, goals, and the messages you send. You agree not to upload or share content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, infringing, or offensive, and to treat other users with respect.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
Don’t harass, abuse, impersonate, or harm other users.
Don’t attempt to access, disrupt, or compromise the app’s systems or other users’ data.
Don’t reverse engineer or misuse the app except as permitted by law.

6. Privacy

Your use of StepHive is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information, including Apple Health and location data.

7. Third-party services

StepHive relies on third-party services including Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, HealthKit, WeatherKit, MapKit, and Apple Intelligence) and Google Firebase (database, authentication, notifications). Your use of those features may also be subject to those providers’ terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the app.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app, including any reliance on its health or route data.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
