The Unopened

A puzzle-box mystery. It was never meant to be opened.

The Story

One ordinary evening, a parcel appears on your doorstep. No return address — just a label that reads For you. Inside is a wooden box and a note:

“It was never meant to be opened. That’s why I sent it to you.”

Every box in The Unopened is a mechanical puzzle you turn in your hands. Every one hides a slip of paper. And when the messages are put in the right order, they say something no single box ever could.

The Boxes

The Secret Panel Chest — the box from the parcel. A short guided introduction teaches you to turn, look closer, and find the seams that move.
The Sea Chest — a sea chart cut into eight sliding tiles on the lid. Put the voyage back together.
The Clockmaker’s Case — a mantel clock stopped at a quarter to eleven, with a key, a pendulum, and a door that won’t stay shut forever.
The Watching Eye — latches, gears, a hidden message, a dial, and number wheels on the lid. Begin where it watches.

The full collection has twenty-five boxes, from The Brass Knob to The Last Box. More are being built.

How to Play

Messages

Each box you open gives up a slip of paper. Tap Messages in the collection to see them. Drag the slips into the right order and watch the capital letters — they spell out something the sender wanted you to find.

Saving

Progress saves automatically after every move. Close the app in the middle of a box and it will be exactly as you left it.

Settings

Tap the gear for sound effects, narration, and haptics; to replay the introduction; to tell a friend or rate the game; or to start over.

FAQ

How many boxes are free?

The first three boxes in the collection are free, along with the Secret Panel Chest from the opening.

I’m stuck.

Turn the box all the way around and pinch in on anything that looks like it might move — seams, symbols, and small brass parts are rarely decoration. Then try the light bulb: the first hint for each part only points you in the right direction.

The narrator isn’t speaking.

Check Settings → Narration, your ring/silent switch, and the volume. Narration pauses automatically while VoiceOver is on.

Does it work offline?

Completely. Nothing in the app needs a network connection.

Is it available in Spanish?

Yes. The app follows your iPhone’s language, including the narration and the hidden messages.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later.

How do I start again from the beginning?

Settings → Start Over. Every box closes again, and your messages, revealed hints, and progress are cleared.
